the next generation baby bottle - Twistshake

20160707_124940absolutely LOVE this illustration, don't you?! however we gotta get our little loves fed, we step up to the plate and get it done.  go mamas!

Lord willing, we've got at least 5 months or less before our 3rd newborn graces our presence, but that didn't stop me from trying out one of the niftiest baby bottle systems i have ever come across!  tell me this short vid doesn't change your life:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6vYlwKFOLQ

see!?  i'd say their 2015 Baby Product of the Year award was well deserved! they conducted research on what parents look for in a baby bottle and addressed those specific needs in the product's design. bravo. Processed with VSCOfor now, i've been filling the storage containers with fruit or snacks, and the bottle portion (sans nipple) with water or juice for the boys when we're out and about.  Processed with VSCO if you're a formula mama, do me and yourself a huge favor and honestly compare whatever system you are using now to Twistshake.Processed with VSCOmy prayer is to breastfeed for a third time for a year minimum.  once i eventually introduce bottle feedings so that i can get a quick break or travel for a few days, i trust that the anti-colic, natural nipple makes that transition extra smooth.  read more about the nipple benefits here.Processed with VSCOthere are 8 colors and 3 sizes to choose from, and you can mix and match them to your outfit, diaper bag, whatever!

also, get 20% off the entire assortment including already discounted packages when you use: fitfoodiele20 at checkout!!

my big bro met me at the gym for a workout yesterday! i missed my early gym date (again) and definitely needed to go get it in. i did one of my 6 Pack USA leg day routines and ended it with a burnout lunge-a-thon via the smith machine.

Spaghetti Squash Chaos

the stuff:

  • 1 large roasted/baked spaghetti squash (30-45 min on 400 deg)
  • 1 lb lean ground chicken or turkey breast, cooked & seasoned (see above)
  • 2 cups packed, fresh spinach
  • 1 cup grape tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup shredded cheese of choice
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh basil
  • 1-2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • hand full of turkey pepperoni slices (approx. 12)

do this:

  1. preheat oven to 350 deg, baking pan with foil and coat it with no stick cooking spray
  2. split spaghetti squash in half, remove seeds/guts
  3. scoop out the flesh of the squash (be gentle!) and add it to your skillet along with your ground meat, tomatoes, spinach, pepper, & olive oil
  4. mix all together until combined
  5. place empty shells on baking sheet and distribute mixture evenly back into shells
  6. top spaghetti half #1 with 1/2 cup shredded cheese; do the same for #2 with the remaining cheese
  7. distribute the pepperoni slices evenly on top of the cheese
  8. bake for approx 10-15 min or just until the cheese melts and/or browns
  9. take out of the oven and sprinkle with the fresh, chopped basil (didn't have any so i used parsley)

VLOG: baby bootcamp! exercises for babies beginning to sit up

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eekd7f8Zs3g&w=560&h=315]

  • cop your own Therapy Disk!

  • do this with your LO for just 10 consecutive minutes per day. they tire easily, so stopping / starting again later is expected

  • this improves their balance, core strength, posture, stability, and endurance, and upper body strength and prepares them for crawling, standing, walking, etc.

  • make sure there are plenty of soft pillows or cushions around baby in case he/she topples over. never leave them unsupervised, especially while using the Therapy Disk

  • every baby develops differently at their own pace!

  • avocado hair mask recipe: 1 ripe avocado, 2 tbsp olive oil, 2 tbsp honey. mix; slather all over hair, cover, sit under dry for 15 min. rinse.

cinnamon pears + hot body or hot wings?

img_20150110_160719.jpg

baby Dego wakes up so happy!  his mood is crazy contagious and always reminds me of this quote:

'Children are happy because they don't have a file in their minds called, 'Everything That Could Go Wrong.'

well i do and it's FULL and needs to be deleted. lol.

CYMERA_20150111_140640

he started clapping (or trying to) a few days ago and has not stopped since.

well this happens every weekend, right on schedule.

IMG_20150110_110138

decisions, decisions! i start craving those weekend foods... pizza, french fries, subway cookies, etc.  i guess that's where my passion for making healthier versions of classic comfort foods came from though.  i want to satisfy that craving (more often) without sacrificing my health or gym progress.  fair enough!?  i'm so glad we have tons of healthier alternatives to work with and swap out these days! anyway,  i have been having some stiffness in my neck, so i hit the gym for cardio only and stretching for my saturday workout.  will be taking it easy so i can hit it hard again on tuesday for my HIIT class.

IMG_20150110_160719

i stopped by Sprouts after the gym and picked up some protein: 99% lean ground chicken breast and Applegate organic chicken and apple sausage for breakfast next week.  i cracked open the sausage as soon as i got home though and had a filling post-workout meal of whole wheat toast, egg white/veggie/sausage scramble,  and kiwi (low sugar ketchup & cheddar almond cheese on the side). delish!!!!

CYMERA_20150111_124118

oh, i got some pears too!  they were next in line to try for Dego's homemade baby food.  i just diced up 1 anjou pear, threw it in a small sauce pan with 2 tbsp water and 1/2 tsp cinnamon, covered it, and cooked it on med-low until tender.  after less than 10 min, i poured it all into my Ninja and pureed the mixture until it was super smooth.  pears = thumbs up!

then, we turned UP!!!!

20150110_213052_2

with letter puzzles on the floor,

20150110_205409_2

Food Network mag, and i killed the last of that coconut Arctic Zero pint with some fat-free cool whip and sprinkles on top. party, party! hope you had a relaxing saturday yourself!! after your workout of course ;)

Q: have you tried the Applegate Turkey or Good Morning bacon yet!?

what's your fave Applegate product?
