Our Living Room Transformation ft. Gallery Furniture

oh 2020… you have been full of highs and lows and this is definitely a long overdue high for us!

so, what started this covid summer home renovation avalanche? a couch! according to Sonny, anyway😅.

i did a super fun collaboration with @galleryfurniture and we really did just plan on upgrading our living room couch. buuut colors matter… and after our recent kitchen reno, well, the rest of the house was the wrong color and needed to follow suit. why stop now? lol.

so off to Gallery Furniture we went! first we visited the location closest to us in Richmond,

then we headed to the flagship location on the north side of Houston where we found THE one.

i couldn’t get my phone back out quick enough to get a better pic (and I didn’t want to bother him really and #socialdistancing), but Mattress Mack himself even came over to greet us and thank us for stopping in. (that’s his back in the Bregman jersey below). super cool to meet someone you’ve seen on tv only your entire childhood!

i’ve got a sweet deal to share with you guys! if you use my code FITFOODIELE when you call or go into any Gallery Furniture location you will receive $100 bucks off your $1000 or more purchase!

also, shipping is absolutely free when you spend $500 bucks or more.

we were excited to get our couch and opted to have it delivered early the very next day.

Matthew of Spectrum Electronics came over to install a small space behind the couch to hold/hide our tv receiver. hit hit up for all your home theater needs👌🏽!

then.. Hubs pleasantly surprised me by having the floors switched out! he chose grey vinyl plank flooring.

we also upgraded our fireplace; the same guy and his team who completed our kitchen renovation (that blog post is finally coming next😩) did this work as well.

we went with shiplap, a wooden mantle, and painted the fireplace black.

so back to this couch situation! this is pretty much as far as we got by ourselves with the decor😬. i saw a before & after interior design photo while randomly scrolling Facebook and tagged Sonny in the comments. he contacted her before he even got back to me lol and the rest Is history! Trinisha Jackson reached out to us immediately and got to work! she effortlessly turned our mess into a breathtaking masterpiece. we have so many more rooms for her to bless!

I picked that rug out and really loved it…but it was the first thing she replaced LOL. watch this!

i know, right!?

i wanted to add a few mirrors and I truly wanted to get rid of our old ceiling fan, but Sonny found this really cool one and convinced me to keep it.

Trinisha was super patient with us and had so many great ideas for our space. she found a better rug, a stylish

floor lamp for more light, and the decorative teal pillow covers & grass yellow pillow covers for the sectional. the centerpieces are from At Home and the coffee table is currently sold out, but it also comes in black and gold.

we planned on upgrading to stair railing after we moved into our home but never did! the transformation alone has allowed so much more light to flow through the 1st floor.  while Trinisha was busy with the living room, Sonny asked her for a few pointers on the color scheme to make sure it matched the adjacent living room and not clash with the accent wall.

the kids naturally gravitate to the teal & yellow poufs because they look so fun, so i’m glad these in particular are not only beautiful but have a pretty firm exterior.

Trinisha suggested an accent wall and designed the pattern below herself. she did that! we love it.

the same guys who transformed our stair case built and painted the accent wall. DM or email me directly for their information.

living plants are not my forte, so this gorgeous fake potted plant adds the perfect pop of greenery. the small one is from Ikea (super old). the side table compliments our coffee table way better and the color block curtains makes the ceiling appear so much taller.

we will definitely have to show baby Nosi these pictures of how the house looked just before she arrived🙂.
